The following is a list of some of the government electronic resources available in the Electronic Information Center at the Science, Industry and Business Library. Please see the complete list of electronic resources for descriptions of these resources.

All-Russia Census 2002
The latest All-Russia Population Census took place on October 9-16, 2002. Conducted by Goskomstat, the State Committee on Statistics of the Russian Federation, this is first official census of modern Russia.

American State Papers, 1789-1838
U.S. legislative and executive materials originating from 1789 -1838 but not published until the second and third quarters of the 19th century.

Ancestry Library Edition
Access to more than 5 billion names in more than 4,000 genealogical databases including Census Records, Passenger Lists and UK & Ireland records. Library version of Ancestry.com.

Bremen Emigration Lists, 1920-1939
Searchable database of passengers leaving Bremen for the years 1920 to 1939.

Castle Garden Immigration Center, 1830-1892
Index of more than 10 million immigrants who arrived at the Port of New York from 1830-1892. Searching via S. Morse's One Step Search Form.

Census CD
Includes the full set of Census data from Block Group level up to the nation, all 16 geographies included in the Census long form databases STF3A to D, all tracts, places, counties, states, Congressional districts, Zip codes, etc., for over 375,000 geographic locations in the US. It has all 3,500+ Census demographic variables for every area along with millions of street addresses from Tiger94, all distributed by the US Census Bureau.

CIAO (Columbia International Affairs Online)
A comprehensive source for theory and research in international affairs.

Congressional Documents & Debates, 1774-1875
Includes the records and acts of the U.S. Congress from the Continental Congress and Constitutional Convention through the 43rd Congress.

Congressional Indexes 1789-1969
Includes U.S. House and Senate documents and reports, committee hearings, unpublished hearings, and commitee prints.

Congressional Serial Set, 1817-1980
A digital reproduction of the key publications of the United States Congress, the Congressional Serial Set documents the official activities of the House and the Senate, including the journals, reports and documents. IN PROGRESS.

Congressional Universe
Provides comprehensive access to U.S. legislative information from Congressional Information Service, Inc.

Credo Reference
This resource is available from home with a branch library card.
This database which includes bilingual and biographical dictionaries provides a full text collection for over 270 reference works.

Economist Intelligence Unit
Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) includes Country Reports and Country Profile guides.

Eighteenth Century Collections Online (ECCO)
Provides full text, digital images of English-language books, pamphlets, broadsides and other materials published in the United Kingdom between 1701-1800.

Eighteenth Century Journals II
Provides full-text, digital images from the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center collection of 17th and 18th century newspapers and periodicals.

Encyclopedia Judaica
Full-text searchable database of the 22 volumes.

Encyclopedia of Governmental Advisory Organizations
This resource is available from home with a branch library card.

Europa: Gateway to the European Union
Current information on the member countries of the European Union, including statistical data, policies, news, official documents, legal texts, and other publications.

Foreign Relations of the United States
This digital facsimile of FRUS is a project of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries in collaboration with the University of Illinois at Chicago Libraries. An almost complete run from 1861-1960 with missing volumes being added as they can be acquired.

Historical Census Browser
Provides population and economic census data for U.S. states and counties from the years 1790-1960.

House of Commons Parliamentary Papers
HCPP delivers searchable full text for each Parliamentary paper, along with a detailed subject index.

Infoshare Online
Provides a wide range of data on the neighborhoods of New York City -- population, immigration, land use, public assistance, birth, death, hospitalization and much else.

JSTOR
A searchable, digitized archive -- from the first date of publication to the last three to five years -- of major scholarly journals in many academic fields.

Left Index
Topics covered include politics, economics, the labor movement, ecology and environment, women's studies, race and ethnicity, social and cultural theory, sociology, art and aesthetics, philosophy, history, education, law, and globalization.

Lexis Nexis Digital Congressional Hearings Digital Collection
Provides access to every published and unpublished hearings from 1824 to the present.

LRS- NY State Legislative Retrieval System
Full-text database of New York State legislative information. Access bill status, bill text, and summary. Includes Committee agendas, floor calendars, daily sheets, chapters for the current year, veto and approval messages, and related documents. Searchable by bill number, word or phrase, or search links. Provides NY State legislative information going back to 1995.

Monthly Catalog of the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO)
Citations to publications of U.S. Government agencies.

MyCITI Map Portal
Through a partnership between the Municipal Art Society and the City of New York, users can access an enhanced New York City Map Portal for detailed maps, building and property data, subway information, community statistics and more.

Naturalization index to records at the Kings County Clerk's Office, 1907-1924
Index to the Kings County (Brooklyn) naturalization records located in the Kings County Clerk's Office.

New York City Census FactFinder
Department of City Planning reference collection including access to New York City population information from the 2000 U.S. Census.

New York Emigrant Savings Bank, 1850-1883
Access through Ancestry Library Edition - Search under U.S. Immigration Collection. The Emigrant Savings Bank was established in 1850 by members of the Irish Emigrant Society. The bank kept records on depositors and borrowers that provide the name of the depositor, account date, and year and place of birth, if given.

New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957
Access through Ancestry Library Edition - Search under U.S. Immigration Collection. Index to the passenger lists of ships arriving from foreign ports at the port of New York from 1820-1957. In addition, the names found in the index are linked to actual images of the passenger manifests.

New York State Tax Forms
You can find all forms and instructions that were previously printed for income tax returns.

OASIS
Access an interactive mapping system for New York City, supplemented by aerial photography, building and property data, environmental information, and data analysis tools.

PAIS Archive
Provides historical perspective on many of the 20th-century's public and social policies.

PAIS International
Indexes journals, reports, and other documents that cover public policy, cultural and social issues, and international relations.

Patents Searching
Searchable full text and bibliographic patent databases from the US Patent and Trademark Office, from 1 January 1976 to the most recent weekly issue date.

Polling the Nations
Polling the Nations is an online database of public opinion polls containing the full-text of 500,000 questions and responses from 14,000+ surveys conducted from 1986 through the present in the United States and 100 other countries around the world.

Project Muse
This resource is available from home with a branch library card.
A full-text database of recent issues of journals in the humanities, social sciences, and mathematics. **For best results use the browser Internet Explorer when using the database offsite. Firefox and Safari browsers will not produce a log in screen.

ProQuest Research Library
Provides articles from periodicals covering arts, business, children, education, health, humanities, law, multicultural studies, sciences, social sciences, and general interest. Full text is available for nearly two-thirds of its titles.

PubWEST
Search patents using the public version of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Web-based Examiners Search Tool database (PubWEST). This is one of the databases the USPTO makes available to professional searchers. Search and view all U.S. patents, applications published since March 15, 2001, and abstracts of European and Japanese patents. Images of many other foreign patents are available for viewing and printing.

Social Sciences Citation Index
Indexes articles and provides cited references found in over 1,700 leading social science journals in more than fifty subjects. Also includes articles from over 3,000 science and technology journals.

Social Services Abstracts
Provides bibliographic coverage of current research focused on social work, human services, social welfare and community development.

SOCIndex
SocINDEX with Full Text is the world's most comprehensive and highest quality sociology research database.

Sociological Abstracts
Indexes and abstracts literature in theoretical and applied sociology, and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences.

SourceOECD
SourceOECD is the online library of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. This library comprises 20 book collections by theme, containing all of the OECD monographs and reports, 24 periodicals, a reference title, and the OECD statistical databases.

Statistical Universe
Indexes and abstracts statistical sources from government and nongovernment agencies. Some graphs are available.

STAT-USA/Internet
International trade and export information from the U.S. Department of Commerce including the National Trade Databank (NTDB), Foreign Traders index, and market research reports by product and country. Other national economic statistics too.

Trademark Electronic Search System (Tess)
Searchable trademark database from the US Patent and Trademark Office, which includes the full bibliographic text of pending and registered trademarks. This site is a resource for application and general information about trademarks.

U.S. Census
Provides in-depth U.S. census data.

United Nations Documents and Publications Index
UN materials searchable by subject, session, document number, UN sales number, title and country.

United Nations Official Documents System (ODS)
ODS covers all types of official United Nations documentation, beginning in 1993. Older UN documents are, however, added to the system on a daily basis. ODS also provides access to the resolutions of the General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council and the Trusteeship Council from 1946 onwards. The system does not contain press releases, UN sales publications, the United Nations Treaty Series or information brochures issued by the Department of Public Information.

Collection of over 34,000 treaties and international agreements registered or filed and recorded with and published by the Secretariat since 1946

United States Congressional Serial Set, 1817-1980

United States Exports History: Historical Summary
U.S. Bureau of the Census annual summaries of export shipments from 1991-1995.

United States Exports of Merchandise
From the Bureau of the Census, International Harmonized System, Commodity Classification and Harmonized Tariff Schedules by country and by customs district. Monthly and annual summaries.

United States Imports History: Historical Summary
From the U.S. Bureau of the Census: Annual import statistics for the years 1991 - 1995.

United States Imports of Merchandise
From the Bureau of the Census, International Harmonized System, Commodity Classification and Harmonized Tariff Schedules by country and by customs district. Monthly and annual summaries.

USATrade
Provides official exports and imports data on more than 17,000 commodities. Reveals what merchandise is being shipped, where it is being shipped, and how much it is worth. Includes quantity and value of exports and imports by 2-, 4-, 6-, and 10 digit Harmonized System codes plus the total quantity and value of exports and imports for more than 250 countries and each customs district

Indexes journals covering political science and related fields.
