An unparalleled visual resource for creative people in any medium, the Picture Collection contains over a million circulating images arranged by subject. Among its files you’ll discover original prints, photographs, posters and postcards as well as illustrations from books, magazines and newspapers.

The Picture Collection is also Digital. More
than 37,000 images are now in the NYPL Digital Gallery, and the number is growing fast.

Visit us and ask for help finding pictures you can take home. With a library card, you can check out 60 pictures at a time. You can also make color copies of pictures from our reference files.
